Waterfalls in the US
One of the highlights of any hike is getting to the end of the trail and finding an amazing waterfall or cascade. I did a little searching and found several waterfalls in the US that are worth the trip. Do you have a favorite waterfall that I should add to our list? I’d love to hear!
Waterfalls in the US
Cumberland Falls,Kentucky

Known as the “Niagara of the South,” this 125 ft wide wall of water drops into a boulder-strewn gorge. With a full moon and clear night sky you can see the “moonbow,” a (lunar rainbow) that appears in the base of the waterfall. A phenomenon not found anywhere else in the Western Hemisphere!
Fall Creek Falls, Tennessee
We hiked on down to the bottom of the Cascades where the kids could feel the spray from the Cascades. In the summer months, this area is often popular with local waders and water lovers.
Stewart Falls is definitely a good one! We hiked last weekend up to a smaller waterfall really close to our house-I love how relaxing it is to hike near water and the payoff at the falls is always worth it. We’re going to Niagara for the first time next summer and I can’t wait. Another of my favorites is Multnomah Falls in Oregon (a TALL waterfall) http://friendsofmultnomahfalls.org/
I’m not sure I have been to enough waterfalls to have a favorite in the US! I loved Niagara Falls but have only been to the Canadian side!
I love waterfalls! Great list! We’re looking forward to seeing Multnomah Falls in Oregon this summer. I went there when I was a teenager, but haven’t been back since.
We just visited Cumberland Falls in May and my four children loved it! It was an amazing experience. There are waterfalls all over the US and I love finding new ones that I have not seen before.
I love Niagara Falls , but that’s an obvious one 🙂
I haven’t been to a lot of waterfalls, but there is one here in Richmond, VA at Maymont Park that I love.
We have some smaller falls in northern New England and I have seen Niagara Falls a few times, too. Big or small, they always amaze me.

I love waterfalls. We have quite a few here in Trinidad and Tobago and I’ve been to several. I love taking a shower under the smaller falls…it is so refreshing.
What pretty pictures. It would be awesome to visit any of them. I live in Florida so I have never seen a waterfall in person.
I enjoyed seeing this look at different waterfalls across the country. It reminded me of smaller waterfalls I like near our home.
We lived in NC for a few months and I loved to visit the waterfalls there. I can’t wait to explore more when we move in that area again!

I would love to see a true waterfall. In Florida, I don’t see many!
I’ve been to Fall Creek Falls. It’s in my state. It’s been awhile so I need to go again.
I would have to say Niagara Falls Canada side is my absolute favorite Waterfall. Its so beautiful at night when they light it all up.
