Waterfalls in the US

One of the highlights of any hike is getting to the end of the trail and finding an amazing waterfall or cascade. I did a little searching and found several waterfalls in the US that are worth the trip. Do you have a favorite waterfall that I should add to our list? I’d love to hear!

Known as the “Niagara of the South,” this 125 ft wide wall of water drops into a boulder-strewn gorge. With a full moon and clear night sky you can see the “moonbow,” a (lunar rainbow) that appears in the base of the waterfall. A phenomenon not found anywhere else in the Western Hemisphere!

We hiked on down to the bottom of the Cascades where the kids could feel the spray from the Cascades. In the summer months, this area is often popular with local waders and water lovers.
