We love visiting museums that show us a piece of history. Recently my friend Dawn and her family took the opportunity to tour the North Carolina Transportation Museum. This looks like the kind of place my kids would love!

North Carolina Transportation Museum

If you are looking for a little weekend excursion, or if you love planes, trains, and cars, then you should check out the North Carolina Transportation Museum located in Spencer, NC. Our family recently took a trip down to Spencer, NC to check out the museum, and it was well worth the trip!

The North Carolina Transportation Museum is easy to find. It is located about 45 miles northeast of Charlotte off of Interstate 85. Just take I-85 North to Spencer, take exit 79 and turn left off of the ramp. Go to the intersection with S. Salisbury Street and turn left. The museum entrance will be on the left less than 1/4 of a mile from the intersection.
