Diamond Head State Monument
One of the most popular tourist attractions on the island of Oahu is Diamond Head State Monument. There’s something pretty amazing about hiking along the ridge of an extinct volcano. The hike is not intense but there are a few things to know before you begin the climb.

Don’t underestimate the hike
Just because it’s rated as a moderate hike does not mean it’s easy. The path is steep at points and there are quite a few stairs along the way. This is not a paved trail that is wheelchair or stroller accessible and should be treated with respect. The trail will lead you around the ridge and up to an incredible lookout so take your time and rest when you feel the need.
You even get to go through a tunnel to get to the other side of the crater.
