Why Cabelas Is the Perfect Road Trip Break
When we go on long road trips, we are always on the lookout for neat side-stops that can give us something fun to see and plenty of space to stretch our legs. Last summer, we were traveling through West Virginia and saw a sign for Cabela’s. Sure, Cabela’s is typically a neat place to stop but this particular store is a bit more than the average store. Cabela’s is the perfect break for road tired travelers.

Why Cabelas Is the Perfect Road Trip Break
You think of Cabela’s and you think of a few cool displays along with a huge selection of hunting, fishing, camping and sports equipment. But this Cabela’s is over the top massive and impressive. There are huge exhibits with mounted animals all over the store and a great place to stretch on a road trip. Well worth the stop.
There’s even an e-coin machine in the store for the collectors.
Our Wheeling Cabela’s store is located just off of I-70. This enormous 175,000-sq.-ft. store not only offers quality outdoor merchandise, it also has museum-quality animal displays and huge aquariums that your kids will enjoy.
Fun Fact: The Cabela’s Wheeling store has an indoor trout stream as well as an entire section devoted to African animals.
Make sure you take the time to walk the entire store so you can see all the different displays and exhibits.
When we are traveling on long road trips, it is easy to snack too much and not get enough steps or exercise in. A stop at Cabela’s is a great way to get some much needed steps and stretches while giving each person a break from the car. If you are a Fitbit user and count your steps like I do, then you and your Fitbit will be much happier after a walk through Cabela’s! Don’t have your own Fitbit? Better pick one up today before you head off on your next road trip!
Where is Cabela’s Triadelphia? Located right off I70 at Exit 10. About two hours from the Flight 93 Memorial in Stoystown, Pennsylvania. It’s also located about an hour southwest of Pittsburgh.
