What to See & Do in South Haven Michigan
South Haven, Michigan is a small town located right on Lake Michigan. This quaint lakeside beach town offers something for everyone.
When we arrived in the late afternoon, the wind was picking up and the raindrops were starting to fall. But a little rain and wind have never stopped us from exploring. We simply grabbed our hoodies and jackets and headed out to the South Haven Michigan, South Pier Lighthouse.
The lighthouse is located at the end of a short pier on South Beach. Consider yourself warned though before you walk to the end. You will probably catch some spray from the waves, so wear shoes that can get wet and keep your camera protected.
There is a beach area with snack shops where you can buy Sherman’s Ice Cream on sunny days!
South Haven boasts many locally owned restaurants and specialty dessert shops down near the South Beach. If you prefer fast food restaurants, you can have your pick of your favorite chains less than two miles from South Beach. There is also a Walmart and other pharmacies up near the hotels off the interstate.
Tip: Reserve your hotel room before you arrive. South Haven is a bustling beach town and popular with tourists!
Since we love staying in the Hilton family of hotels, we stayed in the Hampton Inn. One of the best ways to save money on lodging is to find a chain of hotels you like, and stick with them. That way you can earn points, perks and free nights!
