Atmosphere

Rain or shine – there’s no bad place to sit when you visit Flounders. Choose indoor dining or sit outside near the sandpit volleyball and playground. Flounders has amazing food but the atmosphere is what sets it apart.

After Dinner fun

When you finish your meal, don’t rush off. Take your time and enjoy wandering the sandy paths beside the bay.

Take your time and enjoy the iconic decor as you enter the restaurant. One of the first things you will see is the M/V FLOUNDER…55’ length, 6’ draft, and 20’ beam, 30 tons net weight; built in 1946.

Captain Frank Flounder and later his sons, Fred, Floyd and Felix, shrimped this vessel from Key West, Florida to Tampico, Mexico thru calm seas, tropical storms and fierce hurricanes until she was retired in 1998. This grand old shrimp boat is complete with nets, sleds, mast and rigging and is ready to go back to sea at anytime.

Wander the sandy beach outside the restaurant and look for the most Instagram-worthy photo-ops. Will you take a picture by the direction sign?

Will you spend time chatting with the parrot?

Maybe you prefer to sit awhile in the colorful beach chairs.

Spend some time soaking in the relaxing vibe of Pensacola Bay.
