Travel Memories Grandfather Mountain

We all have those classic shots that capture travel memories without having to say one word. Each week, we post photos that express emotion, tell a story, or make you wish you could be there.

A few years ago my family went on a vacation to North Carolina. We decided to drive to the top of Grandfather Mountain and enjoy the adventure at the top of the world. I did walk across the bridge and I even took my kids across too. But it was very windy and my heart was not beating normally till we all got back down the mountain. My husband and father-in-law decided to climb all the way to the top and take a picture looking back down.

  1. My heart is in my throat just looking at it, but of course I’d have to do it, too! I’ll have to see if it’s going to be close to where we visit this summer.
