At 48 miles long and 5 miles at its widest point, this gorgeous island is like a long, beach-lined splinter in the ocean. Although small, it’s easy to get to Roatan. It is serviced by the Juan Manuel Galvez Roatan International Airport and a twice a day ferry service.
We were here about two years ago and by far it was my favorite place. We went snorkeling and walked around an animal reserve. We went there on a cruise and I wish we would have had more time to explore there before we had to leave! LOVE that place!
Which animal reserve did you visit? We really enjoyed the Iguana Sanctuary that we went to. We visited on a cruise and I really hope to visit again one day.
