Have you ever planned a road trip vacation and have all the attractions lined up but needed a restaurant or hotel recommendation? If you’re like us, we want a good local restaurant (no chain restaurants for us on vacation) and we want a hotel that is going to offer us a good night’s sleep in a good area of town. If you’re heading to Roanoke, Virginia and need food and lodging options, Beamers 25 and the Fairfield Inn & Suites are our favorite options!

Where to Stay in Roanoke

On our recent visit to Roanoke, Virginia we had several things we wanted to do in the area. We ate dinner at Beamer’s 25, explored Black Dog Salvage Warehouse & Marketplace and of course enjoyed the overlook at the top of Mill Mountain and the Historic Star. But we also wanted to stay right off the interstate so we would be able to easily access our next destination. Fairfield Inn & Suites fit that bill exactly.

After spending the day driving in the car, we were ready to take advantage of the fitness center on site. I have a Fitbit that I wear all the time and keep a close watch on my step count each day. After sitting in the car, I wanted to some time after dinner walking on the treadmill and elliptical machines.

Real Life Tip: When you pick your hotel, look for one that has a hot breakfast included. This saves you the time and cost of going out for the morning meal.

And after dinner at Beamer’s 25, it’s a short drive up to the top of Mill Mountain where you can walk off your food and enjoy the view of Roanoke from the Historic Star!
