Escape To The Islands Of Puerto Rico
Ah, Puerto Rico. Right now in North Carolina, we have a big snow system coming in. They are calling for maybe 9+ inches of snow or some craziness like that. I sure would love to get away to Puerto Rico right now. Maybe you can’t leave for Puerto Rico right now, either, but a couple of bloggers are letting us live vicariously through their Culebra Puerto Rico and San Juan Puerto Rican adventures!
Culebra Puerto Rico – On A Budget
Laurel from Capturing La Vita recently visited Culebra Puerto Rico…
Culebra is a grand 11 square miles! It is inhabited by a small Spanish and English speaking community, it serves as a haven for American expats, and is outlined by some of the most natural, pristine beaches and crystal clear water you will ever see.
Laurel shares some great tips on how you can enjoy Culebra Puerto Rico on a budget. I especially enjoyed her tips on how to find cheap transportation including riding the ferry. She also has a great list of things to do and the best beaches to visit while on the island. She also has another post about Culebra that features some very stunning photography that will make you long for sunshine and sandy beaches.
Be sure to check out the rest of Laurel’s Culebra Island, Puerto Rico review.
Steal Away To Sunny San Juan
Zipporah at Champagne Living recently visited San Juan…
There’s so much to do on this little island – sun, sand, glorious hotels, and amazing food…Take a slow stroll, pop in to the little restaurants, shop a bit, soak in the European flavor and enjoy.
Zipporah shares great tips about what to see and do in San Juan, Puerto Rico besides the traditional beach roaming. She shares about great places to stay that take that have the feel of the Rat Pack era {totally somewhere I would like to visit}. She also shared where the best nightlife is and all about the local cuisine. Anyone up for a culinary tour? Yum.
Be sure to check out the rest of Zipporah’s San Juan review.
My husband and I almost booked a trip to Puerto Rico last year, but ended up staying local. I definitely want to get there someday!
I’ve never been to Puerto Rico. I’d love to go this year. I’m an empty-nester and would love to start traveling soon. Puerto Rico is on my bucket list.
Beautiful pictures!! With a giant snowstorm on its way her in the Southeast, I can live vicariously through your pics.
I’ve never been to Puerto Rico, but my mom lived there as a child. (My grandfather was in the Navy, and he was stationed there.) I think we must not live too far from each other as we’re also estimated to get that kind of snow in Asheville. I’m not excited about it.
How much snow did you end up getting? I am in Mount Airy – maybe 3 hours away, perhaps? We ended up getting a foot of snow!
Oh god, those pictures are gorgeous. I can’t wait for warm weather.
Oh, I’d love to go to Puerto Rico!
My parents went there a few years ago and went to a monkey sanctuary, they got amazing pictures of the monkeys sitting and playing with them.
Oh wow! That would be amazing! I love monkeys. 🙂
That looks heaven sent right now. I’m so over the snow! I’ve never been to Puerto Rico, but I would love to visit some day. Maybe I’ll get lucky enough to go without the kids! LOL
I haven’t been yet, but it sure sounds like it’s a place worth visiting, maybe even more than once! So much to do!
Puerto Rico is definitely on my bucket list someday! I really want to visit their bioluminscent bays!
I would love a sunny trip to Puerto Rico!!! We haven’t gone on our honeymoon yet but I think we’re ruling out somewhere that requires an airplane.
How long have you been married. My husband and I just went on our first alone trip a few months ago – after 6 1/2 years of marriage, lol.
We’ve never been to PR. It’s def a destination we are hoping for one day!! Beautiful pic! I miss the ocean!
Oh Puerto Rico is so lovely! We cruised out of it for our honeymoon. I would love to return someday.
I would freaking LOVE a trip to anywhere right now. I am so tired of the foot of perpetual snow.
We have a foot of snow on the ground right now and are snowed in. I know how you feel. 🙂
I have never been to Puerto Rico….or anywhere for that matter. LOL Well, I did go to Las Vagas one and found it boring but that is because my husband would not leave the casinos. After 5 days of ding ding ding…. Yup I was over it. Puerto Rico looks beautiful!
I’ve done a lot of traveling, but Puerto Rico is one place I haven’t hit yet. It sure does sound nice while I’m sitting here shivering in NJ!
I did a food tour in San Juan a few years ago. Such a historic city with unique foods.
I have not been to Puerto Rico, but I want to go. And going on a budget will help get me there faster!
I’ve been to San Juan twice, and it’s one of my favorite places. So close to home, yet still exotic to me. Beautiful!
I have only been to PR once, but I loved it! I want to go back for an entire weekend ASAP!
I have always wanted to visit this place. So beautiful and peaceful looking! Maybe next year?
Would love to go to PR! Even better.. you don’t need a passport!
That is definitely an awesome point to make. 🙂

I have to say, I am pretty jealous of your in-laws right now. 🙂
Oh man I need a vacation. I am so over this cold winter weather.
This looks so nice! We just got 13″ of snow here today…
We got at least 12″ here, lol. 🙂 Sounds like we are in the same boat.
