My husband and I both love technology. That’s why it’s funny that it took us so long to get a GPS for the van. I guess we just figured that a map was the best way to find where we were going and we didn’t need a GPS to get us there. But once we got the GPS, we were hooked. Then we found the most handy accessory – the GPS portable friction mount. This little device has been a super accessory for our trips.
GPS Portable Mount
We didn’t like the idea of attaching the GPS to our window. It just seemed like it would always be in the way. My husband did some research and realized that you could pick up a little bean bag like mount to attach your GPS. Then you can just move the GPS to the floor if you aren’t using it.
This has been the most handy travel accessory we have purchased. If I need to type in a destination or do a search while my husband is driving, I can just pick it up and put it in my lap. No more reaching over while the car is moving and trying to type in the address.
Since we order most everything on Amazon.com, I found a few portable mounts for you to compare. They have friction mounts available for most popular GPS brands.
Have you ever used a portable mount like this? Got any tips for how the GPS has made your trips easier? I’d love to hear!
